Fifth Annual Parkinson’s Juried Art Show May 2012 Sponsored by The Muhammad Ali Parkinson’s Center and The Fountain Hills Parkinson Support Group The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center and the Fountain Hills Parkinson Support Group are sponsoring a juried art show that is open to persons with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers who reside (full or part time) in Arizona. Artists may submit one piece for consideration by the jury. We will accept only work that is original. Photos used as a basis for your work must be your own. Hanging pieces must be framed with framing wire that is taut and securely attached five inches from the top - full width of the frame - and ready to be hung. The lack of a showcase limits entries to framed or gallery-wrapped pieces (sides painted, no visible staples). We will not be able to include three-dimensional pieces such as sculpture or pottery. Selection of work will be considered, in part, by the size of the piece. Artists who enter must be Parkinson’s patients or PD caregivers. Selected artwork must be delivered to the Burton Barr Public Library on Tuesday, May 8 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. All accepted-pieces will be considered for awards. The library is located at 1221 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix. Selected artwork will remain on display until Thursday, May 31 when the show comes down. On that day, artists must reclaim their work between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. We look forward to your participation in this juried art show. We extend an invitation to you and your guests to attend a reception on Friday, May 11 from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. (Library closes at 5:00 p.m.) The reception is open to the public. • Photograph of entered piece and entry form must both be received no later than Friday, April 20, 2012. • On or before Friday, April 27, 2012, we will notify artists by email if their entries are accepted for the show. • Awards will be announced at the reception on Friday, May 11.
