The Fountain Hills Parkinson’s Support Group, through the efforts of our leadership group and our affiliations with the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, HealthSouth and the Fountain Hills Senior Center offers a variety of educational, physical exercise, social and other programs to help those with the disease and their caregivers to better understand PD and the best ways to deal with its effects.
PD patients, their caregivers and all those who are interested in learning more about Parkinson’s are encouraged to attend our informal monthly meetings. The meetings are normally held at the Fountain Hills Senior Center at 9:30 AM on the first Wednesday of the month. For more information, call the Fountain Hills Senior Center at 480-816-5226 or Mary Stone at 480-816-6080 or firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no charge to attend any of the group’s meetings.
Parkinson’s Disease is both progressive and degenerative. It is usually associated with physical symptoms such as tremor or trembling of the arms, jaw, legs and face; stiffness or rigidity of the limbs and trunk; bradykinesia – slowness of movement; postural instability, or impaired balance and coordination. All of these symptoms result from the loss of dopamine-producing brain cells.
